About the project
Bakers Delight has agreed to pilot a program using M-Learning technologies. We will select 15 students from across N.S.W currently enrolled in course 9297, and deliver content to students using both hand held PDA’S. The content will be customised to meet Bakers Delight specific needs.
The PDA’S are used in the learning and assessment modes so students can gauge progress. In class, students download files from the college server. At home or in the workplace they can download, up load or synchronise files between their PC and handheld over the Janison site. Teachers will download content and assessments, and send to the students in the workplace. Students will them be asked to photograph their work, attach the evidence to the assessment, fill in the observation, record commentary and both parties can sign that the assessment has been completed on the PDA screen.
The project will require the acquisition of 20 PDA’S which have cameras and connect to other devices these will be provided through a sponsorship agreement between Telstra and HIT.
The project is also nominating to run a pilot program for the Hunter Institute for the implementation of the CLAMS downloadable program for PDA’s developed by Robert Thatcher for the 2005 Quality Awards. This program allows the teacher to enter all attendance, results and student notes into the PDA and directly down load that information into the CLAMS roll book.
